Design Process

If you've never had a website designed before, you might be wondering what the process entails. Here's a brief outline to give you an idea:

1. Registering the Domain Name

The domain name is your address on the internet. (For example, www.google.com.) It should be purchased as soon as possible to ensure you secure the name you want.

2. Determining the Layout

Based on the information you provide, Jenn will design a layout concept. (In other words, breaking down the site's organization: how many pages, where to place the information, etc.) She will also determine an appropriate color scheme and other details - all of which will be compiled into a design brief. After reviewing the brief, you can discuss any changes with Jenn until you feel comfortable with the concept.

3. Creating the Site

Jenn will then proceed to build the site. The length of this step depends on the site's size and complexity.

4. Final Approval

After the site has been completed and fully tested, you will be able to view and approve the site before it goes online. Any final changes will be made at this stage.

5. Obtaining Web Hosting

Each website requires server space to store the files that comprise the site. Jenn uses and recommends GoDaddy.com. It's very affordable and reliable.

6. Going Live

The site will then be loaded onto the server where it will accessible on the Internet.
