General
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept VISA, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express via PayPal. (You don't need a PayPal account to make a payment via PayPal.) I also accept PayPal transfers and checks.
Is there anyone you won't design for?
I am a Christian before I am a designer and therefore will not design for a business whose services go against my beliefs. This includes (but is not limited to) bars, casino or gaming businesses, etc. Although I do not push my beliefs onto others, I retain the right to refuse my services to any individual or business that does not follow in accordance with my faith.
Web Design
I like my current site; I just want to make a few changes. Can you do that?
Just like any other artist, designers have their own design (i.e. coding) styles and techniques. Usually, it is much easier to design a new site from scratch than to try and alter an existing site. Therefore, my services do not include making changes to sites that other designers have created.
Do you design Flash sites?
I do not design Flash websites. They are more complicated to update and not everyone can easily view or download their content. (They are, after all, essentially movies.) I don't find them practical for small businesses, so therefore I do not design them.
Do you offer search engine optimization?
Search engine optimization is the process of improving the number of people on the Internet who visit your site on a daily basis. Most often, this includes knowing how each search engine ranks sites and implementing methods accordingly. It can also include other marketing ideas such as pay-per-clicks and banner ads.
Search engine optimization has grown into its own specialty. Therefore, I do not offer search engine optimization services. (I do use key words and phrases in the page titles and on the homepage, assuring that a search engine will find the page, but I cannot guarantee its ranking.)
What browsers do you design for?
The websites I design are built to render correctly in IE 7.0, IE 6.0, Firefox 3.0, Firefox 2.0, and the latest version of Safari. These are the most widely-used browsers. Thus, you can be sure your site will be viewed correctly by the majority of Internet users.
How do I know if my current site is a good site?
A poor site can be a detriment to your company as much as a great site can be an asset. If you have an existing site and aren't sure whether it constitutes a good site, here are some questions that you can ask yourself:
- Is the site easy to navigate? Can people easily find what they need or is it frustrating?
- Is the site format consistent? In other words, does the menu and layout remain consistent on each page, or do things shift about?
- Is the site's information and content well-organized? Or is there no rhyme or reason?
- Is the site informative? Does it offer all the information a visitor would want to know?
- Does the site adequately represent you/your business? Does it use your logo, your company colors, etc.?
- Does it look sleek and professional, or does it look more amateur, with pictures and content just placed where ever?
